Research and Appraisal
Sharon Campbell is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) with the American Society of Appraisers and secretary of the Personal Property Committee. She also serves as the Personal Property Committee Representative to the ASA Government Relations Committee.
Ms. Campbell specializes in fine art and contemporary studio crafts, and her background is in research, consultation, teaching, and curating.
Ms. Campbell has been involved professionally in art since she began graduate school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she majored in Studio Art and minored in Art History. Since that time she has worked as a teacher in Operation Breakthrough in Durham, NC, St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, NC, and the Greenville County Museum School of Art in Greenville, SC. She has also been an adjunct faculty member for Furman University, Converse College and the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts.
In the 1980s, Ms. Campbell was head of exhibitions at the Greenville County Museum of Art, prior to which she directed the Museum School. She has also curated exhibitions for such various organizations as the South Carolina State Museum, Greenville County Fine Arts Center, Emrys Foundation, Furman University, Asheville Art Museum and the Federal Reserve Bank of Raleigh, Charlotte Division.
